my true attachment
While walking on road all alone with only the street lights around me to guide my further way in this dark night, I wondered how life is?
Various matters I had to face. Some where pleasant on the other side some remain in the list of my dark pasts.
There are thousands of unique people I met. Some hurt me the most some became the reason behind each smile of mine. Few who never bothered me and simply went on.
Not just people, broken piece of a lovely wind chime gifted to me long back by my dad, cards from my best friends which I keep safe in my diary, my childhood photos… and many more things which I keep close to my heart and never want to loose them in my life.
It feels as if something just depends upon all these.
Life never wanders like a lonely soul. It has a string that ties itself to people, things, and various other matters.
Life feels these attachments as a support or a ladder that helps to keep you moving to greater heights. Yes it does take you to heights, but much stronger than that is the ability of attachments to pull you down into a deep pit with greater force and intensity when the string breaks off.
I kept wondering, and I couldn’t help thinking upon it either, the thing I needed was an answer.
Finally the answer was invoked in me by a friend of mine who on his last day of his college was lamenting about how much he will miss his friends, benches, professors, building and so on.
The line that I uttered accidently while consoling him was the answer to my question- “never attach yourself to humans and objects in your life, cause they keep on changing and won’t be there forever in your life”.
I realized then that people and objects around you can never be tagged with a life long companionship guarantee. Like what was been told by Shakespeare –
“All the world’s a stage, and all men and women merely players : they have their exits and entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages”.
And hence the person or the object in front of you has got a role in your life to play and once the role gets over they pack up!
So staying attached with people and objects is something that will ruin your life.
But my curiosity does not end here.
Life without any attachments is completely meaningless.
If getting attached to people and objects ruin your life then to what should we be attached to to make it meaningful??
Well here Albert Einstein comes to the rescue.
There is a famous quote by him that I recently researched out, which goes like – “If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal, not to people or things”.
A very true one, goal or aim is something that never changes and never leaves you! It keeps running in your mind all day all night.
So from this I learnt to keep my aim close to my heart, blindly believe in it, trust it and just love it!
Cause this is no guy who is going to just dump me and move away, my goal is loyal to me and will be with me forever.
Ausum... A pleasant and provoking article. True and innocent ..
